I read 1000 entries similar to these only instead of side effects all these girls pulled out their own mirena and were telling how better they felt doing it!!! Well i am now one of those girls and Phew! whoo whee!! halleleujah!!!! holy smokes!!! thank you lord!!!! i am free from that thng after THREE years!!! i am so excited to get my body back!!!! i LOVED NOT having a period...but my happiness and well being is far more important!!! I am not a DR. i will not tell any of you to do this....i am just sharing that no dr will get to tell me "its normal" anymore!!! or make me think i am hallucinating with these symptoms! at my appointments they "encourage" keeping it in which i did..now i took it upon myself to finally "be normal"
Babybooth - I swear to you....i was a little nervous....but i didnt feel even one pinch, cramp, or discomfort...my post now says 14 hours ago..i have had very minimal crampies kinda like when they put it n....but i FEEEEEEELLLL AWESOME otherwise!!! i really do believe ths was the best decision for me...i had appointment to get it out but i couldnt wait that long....i will be sad to see my period again but i am happy also.
Akozi234 - I have an appt to get mine removed in 3 weeks. What I was wondering is this: your feeling better as soon as it was removed? I'm looking for motivation to get through these next few weeks...
Babybooth - i was a little terrified...it took me two tries...the first time i had doubted myself halfway through it...and i stopped. Then i was sitting on the couch and was like OMG what if its half out and it wont work anymore LOL...then i was thinking i have to get that thing out because i feel horrible with it in...so i went back...put the radio on to calm my nerves and voila there it was sitting in front of me on my bathroom counter....i was shocked that i did it ...never once did i feel guilty for taking it out...i prepared my boyfriend for the news and he was completely fine with it!!! I am happy! My post now says 21 hours ago and ive only still had minor cramps..kinda like a "pre" period cramps. only maybe 5 small spots of blood. i cannot tell you in words how good i feel ALREADY!!!!
Akozi234 - Wow! You are a determined woman! I'm impressed. lol. I really don't think that I could manage that. Plus I really don't want to. The whole thought of trying to do that while bleeding already does not sound very appealing to me. : / I guess I will keep mine for another 3 weeks because I know I can't work up the courage. Plus my cervix is becoming inverted. Its trying to push it into my uterus to be free of it. I'm so glad I'm not alone. I thought this was all in my head for the last 6 months. My hubby never wanted me to get it so I keep getting the "I was right" look. lol. Gotta love men... lucky fools.
Babybooth - my post now says 2 days ago...i am still not bleeding...i feel super fantabulous and am well on my to normality!!! i was on the fence for MONTHS!!!! i am glad its all over for me....no more mirena...no more depo....no more ANY hormone altering birth control!
Zekesmommy08 - I have really been thinking about your post for the few days, and i did the self check, and realized that i don't know how to get a grip of my strings...how'd you do it? not trying to get too personal or anything lol i'm just curious. idk what's going on, i went in last week, and I had just had my period a week prior to then but i just started again a few hours ago. i'm not due for another 2 weeks for it...ever since i had this thing, my periods are totally out of whack, when i used to be quite regular.
Babybooth - 15 days ago...wow!!!!! first off i would like to say for the last 15 days i have been cool as a cucumber...my heart hasnt been racey...my nervousness has subsided..my moods are pretty regular again although im still a bit snippy and the only other "mood" that i was having a problem with was the emotional super sensitive cry at everything..which that rrrreeeeeeaallllly has let up...i can "control" my emotions better alll in just 15 days...im serious as a heart attack!! My "sex drive" OMG!!!!! ive noticed myself wanting it more frequently than before when i was on the mirena and now i have a heightened level of sensitivity..which is good...before i felt almost numb. my hair is still falling out but that too is seemingly becoming less. I have not had any more shooting pains in eiither one of my sides...i have been sleeping "Comfortably" through the nights which is one "side effect" that i realllly did take notice to. really weird but very true. I did notice getting 3 headaches in the last 15 days which is rare to be so close together but havent had one in a few days. I noticed my appetite creepng up again which is fine with me...i lost about 12lbs (not sure if its mirena) ut i cannot eat when i am cryng sobbing sad mad etc...so if all of those things are to blame for mirena then my weightloss is definitely cause too...i definitely could use a few pounds!!! i noticed that my skin is a little more viibrant where before it was dry and brittle..i am getting more spring in my step and have taken my 2 children on bike rides as i walk behind them around our huge block almost daily (weather permitted)..that is something i NEVER felt like doing..I still have not had any bleeding..im waiting in anticipation because i know "aunt flow" is due at any moment but im stocked up for when ever she gets here...i have not had any cramping that would cause me worry..just minor sporadic "pre-Period" kinds of cramps....my life seems to be getting back in order and am taking it one day at a time. everyday that passes and i am seeing results of myself "getting better" makes me even more proud of myself for making my decision! I hope everyone makes a choice that is right for them..no matter what people tell you is best for you..only you can really assess that. I hope that whomever reads these postings and find that mirena isnt for them they too can feel the weight lifted off of their shoulders as i have felt lifted off of mine. A bitter sweet goodbye mirena.
