It's been about 3 years (I think)...Since I had the Mirena placed and the doc cut the strings too short. First of all, over that period of time I have suffered with:
*Mood swings like Jekyll and Hyde
*Hair loss so bad that I cut it off to save it the hassle.
*Skin more oily than a teenager (I'm 36).
*Greasy, nasty hair to match the skin.
*Itchy skin under the grease.
*Weight gain/loss...anything that my body feels like doing at the time.
*Rashes on my abdomen that are fungal.
*Sinus infections that won't go away and affect my sense of smell.
*Depression.
*Food intolerances.
That is probably an incomplete list, because it changes day to day, really. And just when my family and I think that we have a handle on whatever my body throws at me, something new comes skipping down the pike.
So, as I am thinking the other day that I may be going through early menopause, or late puberty... or dying for God's sake. And bitching about it for the umpteenth time to my husband. He mentions something about the Mirena that is floating aimlessly around my uterus unanchored.
Had I thought that might be the cause of all of my physical whoas? Yes, of course. But then, I realized that it's been there for a while, so this would have started sooner, right? RIGHT? Maybe not. So, I started reading about the other poor souls that have gone through the same madness that I am going through. I am telling you; If I could reach into my vagina and pull that thing out myself, I would do it right now.
I think the worst of it has to be the skin hair thing, really. As I sit here and type, my skin is so slick my wrists could slide off the laptop. My face is always shiny, which is nasty. I tried every remedy I could google. Tea tree oil has a new place in my heart:)
So, it's a holiday weekend (President's Day). Come Tuesday I will call the Women's Clinic that screwed this up in the first place and see about getting this removed.
I pray that the surgical removal doesn't suck too badly.
