Ihave had my mirena for two years now but i had a period for 3 months straight and now i havent had one since. But i havent had weight gain i have lost over 50 pounds i have no sex drive im lucky if i can even get out of bed to be with my boys i am 23 years old i shouldnt feel like this i shouldnt feel like this i shouldnt be in pain all the time this is no way to live and its not fair to my kids. I have been so angry more than i kno can possible be normal IT HAS DESTROYED MY LIFE
Bellavita510 - i have hads mine for 5 yrs and have an appt. for removal in 2 weeks, i had no problems until after a yr of having it put in never thought the mirena could be the culprit, until looking into removal info !!!!! wow, am i surprised, so pay attention to what is going on with your body i've had all bad side effects except the hair loss!!! feel fat , ugly, old and miserable!!!! i hope not for your sake..... but symptoms may rise down the road, wish i had a heads up 4 yrs ago or even before getting it! good luck!
Sherem - I have 3 kids now under the age of 5. Just had my Mirena placed a couple of weeks ago. After baby #2 I had developed post partum depression which felt like it was ruining my family. I was angry most of the time (very unusual), really overwhelmed, and difficulty getting out of bed in the morning. Whether or not it is hormones, it can happen anytime. Kids are great, but they can be challenging. I would recommend talking to your public health nurse/doctor.
