NuvaRing Anxiety Panic Attacks, Crazy Dreams, Nuva Ring, Gestation, Pms

Wow! I cant believe other women have had these same symptoms, I started the NuvaRing about three months ago after I lost a baby very early in gestation, I swore I would never have to go through that again, so my doctor put me on the NR and I couldn't tell If I was still hormonal from the pregnancy or if it was the ring, But Im a wreck! Im so mean and hateful to my husband pretty much mean to everyone, I feel like this big mean lady walking around, and thats not me not at all I have crazy dreams, horrible anxiety, panic attacks and PMS from HELL. I have never been on birth control before so I have nothing to compare it to. But after reading this.Im really considering taking it out so I can be myself again.

Littlerock - Hi there. Just wanted to say that was my biggest reason for going off - I always felt I was in "PMS mode". I was terrible to my partner, terrible to strangers, even terrible to my dogs. My good sweet natured, always there dogs! The final straw for me was when I get SUPER pissed off because my internet went down... as if that really matters. I realized my irritability, over-reacting and constant bitchiness wasn't worth the benefits from it at all. They say side effects tend to go away with time, but that was one side effect that kept getting worse as the months went on. If you decide to give it some time, just be sure to keep an eye out on your mood. I'm sure your husband will be able to keep an honest eye on it, as it is sometimes harder for us to see ourselves when we're in the midst of it all.

Domino - The horrible PMS, shouting at your partner, major depression, and all other "violence"-related feelings, are a major side-effect of hormonal birth control. I've just had to stop taking the pill this month because I just couldn't control my mood and temper, it was horrible! My relationship was going down the drain because of it, and my boyfriend pointed out that it's not the first time he's seen this happening on other girlfriends that were on the pill. I was hoping a vaginal ring (having less hormones than the normal pill) would not have these effects, but apparently hormones are hormones no matter in what form they come in :P Logically, it's always a problem messing with your body's balance (and feeding it hormones to stop that most basic of human functions, ovulation, certainly qualifies), so I guess it's back to condoms (bleh), spermicides and luck for me. I wonder if all the broken marriages and shouting matches that mark most modern relationships have their roots in all the hormones we keep dumping into ourselves...
