Omeprazole Small Red Bumps, Arms and Legs, Heartburn, Blog, Apple Cider Vinegar
Posted over a year ago
I'm not sure if this is a side effect but since I've been taking this drug my face has broken out in these small red bumps. After reading this blog I can finally figure out why I was always scratching my arms and legs especially at night and why I'm so tired all of a sudden. Is the drug worst than the heartburn???
Shocked1 - You know if you suffer from frequent heartburn, you may be lacking acid in your stomach to properly digest food. My chiropractor taught me that a viscious cycle begins with occasional heartburn, people seek relief and begin using over the counter antacids. Well, over time, the condition gets worse because you're killing the acid needed to digest food. So, people get prescriptions, thinking they're stronger & will help. In fact, the opposite happens. By reducing the stomach acid, you have a hard time digesting foods, so your brain now reads an acid deficiency & turns on the acid production. This viscious cycle continues, and over time gets worse. My chiro told me to get off that cycle, you need to first STOP taking all acid reducing meds. Check with your pharmacist, heartburn is a frequent side effect of many prescription meds. Take some Prilosec OTC, to coat your stomach. For instant relief, occasionally, take a tablespoon of APple Cider vinegar, mix with a little water and swallow it. The acid in the vinegar will help, immediately. Lastly, for long term relief, eat Pineapple and/or Papaya. These 2 fruits contain digestive enzymes which will help your body digest the food effeciently and slow the production of acid in your body. I have followed his advice for 6 months now, and no longer use ANY antacids and the constant is gone.
