Antibiotics / Birth Control Pills

I was recently prescribed Zithromax for a sinus infection prior to staring my new pack of pills. I took all three antibiotic pills and then started my new pack of pills two days later as usual after my period. I know that you only take Z-max for 3 days but it keeps working for a week afterwards. Will this affect my birth control pills? Do I need to use a backup method of birth control?
