I take 200 mg of Topamax daily to help control maigraines. Within the last month, I've had two episodes of facial swelling that I believe have to do with the sun interacting with one of my medications. After a day at the beach, (I used a lot of SPF 30 sunscreen and applied hourly) I experienced swelling in my forehead, then a day later I had swelling around my eyes and nose area. The swelling went down after a few hours. This happened again a month later, however, this time I was only exposed to the sun for brief moments at a time and I didn't burn. Again, I had the same swelling that only lasted a couple of hours. The first episode was diagnosed as a reaction to the sunburn. The second episode was diagnosed as an allergic reaction to an environmental factor (pollen or something of that nature). Has anyone had a similiar problem with Topamax?
