A few years ago my daughter was prescribed topamax for anxiety/depression associated with anorexia. It turned out to be a very bad drug for her for many reasons. But I have just been told that I may have a bulging disc in my back and the doctor prescribed topamax. He said it would relieve the numbness in my leg. Has any one ever heard of topamax being used for this purpose. I am scared to take this drug and would appreciate any feed back I can get.
Kitkat - I have a situation similar to yours - I have bulging discs in my back and right leg pain/numbness. My family doctor sent my to a neurologist for a EMG (nerve conduction test) and when I told the neuro that I also get sinus headaches, he told me I had migraines and put me on Topamax and said after about a month, I'll start losing alot of weight (I'm about 50 lbs overweight). Well, he put my on 25mg and told me to increase it 25mg per week. The night before I was to take the 100mg, I woke up feeling very dizzy and had extremely blurry vision that lasted for about 2-3 min. The next day I stopped taking the medicine. I've also had memory loss and tingling on my feet and hands and no weight loss
