I started menopause 7 years ago and went one year without hormone replacement. OB/GYN told me the patch was safe, very low dose and would not hurt me. So 7 years I was on the patch until I was notified of a mass in my right breast. I immediatley stopped using the patch. Every year at my well woman exam I would ask my OB/GYN if it was safe to use the patch...her reply was don't worry about it, very low dose. That dose was food for a tumor which resulted in me losing my breast and now pending chemo. Please do not take medications if you can really go without them. God bless.
