Welchol Statin Drug, Memory Loss, Night Sweats, Joint Pain, Gall Stones

All this talk of HAIR LOSS, POSSIBLE GALL STONES, ANEMIA etc. is really scaring me as my doctor (gastro-i) has prescribed it for extreme IBS. Am interested to know if anyone else has experienced hair loss. I HAVE been experiencing gas and feeling tired. Don't know if the tiredness is due to the Walchol. Am very uncomfortable about taking this drug after reading all these comments.
Grandmaj - I AM be afraid of this drug-I keep trying it and I keep having terrible side effects. I told my doctor I will not take it any longer.
I went back on Welchol in Aug because my Doctor said my LDL needed to be improved. I started back on it Aug 1st-by Sept 15th or so-I started with the horrible muscle pains. I had the hair loss and finally realized it coule be from the Welchol. I had Severe muscle pains, I have been exhausted and could not fuction normally,
Had to lay down and sleep because of the exhaustion.
I made an appointment with my Dr and she took 4 vials of bllod-my liver, thryoid, glucose, hemoglobin, Hepatitis B and C
Everything but my hemoglobin was normal.
I am ANEMIC and have to go to a gastro Dr in Nov.
I just love it when they say the side effects are mild to none.
I would be very careful if you have to take Welchol.
I guess it works for a lot of people BUT there are always a few who have side effects. This was not in my imagination because THEY did the blood work.

Mara123 - I have just started this medication and after reading all the negative side effects, I am having second thoughts about continuing this medication. I have only been on it for about 5 days. I am taking this to reduce my cholesterol...Anyone out there have some positive things to say about this med...
Nanajanet - I just started it a month ago and I have stopped. I was told it was NOT a statin and I am so angry.
Two good articles...
