Is there a difference in Yaz and Yasmin pills?
Yazstinks - I think Yaz came out later after Yasmine. If I am correct Yaz is a low-dose form of Yasmine, but don't take my word on that. You could call your OB-GYN to be sure.
Reese99 - Hi there. Yaz and Yasmin both contain the same ingredients (Drospirenone and Ethinyl Estradiol). The difference is the amount of estrogen contained in both products. Yaz contains 0.02mg of estrogen and Yasmin contains 0.03mg estrogen component. The difference in estrogen component is so small, that there is really no difference at all. In fact, most all birth control pills are now low dose estrogen. Also, Yaz contains 24 active pills and Yasmin contains only 21 active pills.
