Zocor Side Effects

I had been on zocor for 4+ month (no other medications) started to ache in so many different areas (back, groin (very sore), left side, upper back and ball of feet (right one quite bad)). I stopped the zocor about 4 weeks ago... I was given celebrex (could not tolerate it) and finally went for two weeks of acupuncture treatments which helped somewhat....
finally went to the foot doctor last week, who told me to rest a lot (I usually work out 5 days a week) to reduce the inflammation in my foot...
I had not been working out for the last 3 weeks anyway, since my muscle pains were too severe and it was also recommended by my doctor....
now I'm off zocor for 4 weeks and have not improved enough to resume an active lifestyle
(which I miss terribly)... my doctor thought I should feel better in about 4 weeks, although he also said that he had a patient whom it has taken a few month to get back to normal.....
I eat well, am not overweight and am just so disgusted that a drug like zocor could do this to my body.
I guess this is board is for venting but I would also like to hear from people that have actually bounced back fully and how long it has taken them.
