Zyprexa and Eye Health
Posted over a year ago
Is zyprexa a steroid? I was recently at the eye doctor and was asked if I had been on any steroid medications as I was too young for macular degeneration but was in fact suffering from such. Zyprexa is the only medication I've been on and I've never taken recreational steroids.
Trinity5seven - Chances are You are already 'contracted' Diabetes..... from taking ZYPREXA
any other bad side effects:? bowel damage- fibroids on uterus.. weight gain- depression, etc...
My point is your Eye Doctor may be your saving grace and get you off ZYPREXA !
I was not on any meds before they talked me into taking new anti-depressant with NEW ZYPREXA 1996! Get your blood sugar checked I am guessing based on my wrecked body of experience VIA Zyprexa.. that it took way over 3 years for my dr to figure out i had diabetes - so I am very attentive to my eye dr and what stuff your talking about.
Unless your an in house mental patient i can not imagine why anyone would need Zyprexa for over a two week period to "settle down" a stressful SITUATIONAL problem rather than a Permanent brain disorder...... RESEARCH and get clean from that drug ASAP... Trust me i lived it...
Ruthq64 - In what state do you live?We live in Massachusetts and my son is on Zyprexa 5 mg and when he tried to lower down to 2.5 mg he get tightening of the jaw and his head feels really numb. What is this?i guess withdrawal symptoms, because the doctor that prescribed it never told us any of this.Yet they had me cornered with DSS,just for my son walking out at the ER got tired of waiting for a cup of water. They visited my house for a whole year and practicly threatened us saying he had to take this drug Zyprexa.
Trinity5seven - Kansas, I guess my questions (not being a doctor of course) But living and monitoring the damage of these drugs on me as Empirically as possible.. Are 1-what or why did they (and WHO IS THEY that gave him the drug? in first place) 2 if its a fix all reason they gave him that drug? what weight for 5mg? did you drop in 1/2 in one day? i cant see at that dose 5mg to 2.5mg it would cause withdrawal and lock jaw type symptoms BUT IT is a serious drug and effects and affect Both Brain and body- is something to remember-
it can be hard to get off of- not knowing what this drug can do mentally and by collateral damage the Body will have its own reactions just as the brain and mental process's will be effected. If Social Services are in your life that intensively, I fear you may have issues that spinning out of your control, and your son may be one of the many the System is trying to medicate a problem away -- is that what it feels like? and is happening? I know a wonderful smart young 8 year of a friend and he is so far ahead of his age group and full of life, that his school teachers have pressed my friend to "Medicate" him... clearly Not a real mental problem but the solution for people dealing with kids is the sedate them into compliance - sad in my opinion. for that example if some social worker is now intertwined in your life- you may have to comply with them or risk something.... I can't see the big picture for you, but i know the drug and many like it are mainly a profit motivated deal. the real damage to a younger person is sad for me to hear... If they demand you keep him on them ask them IF THEY would take the pill themselves- oh sorry that will just hack them off--- the ER in most cases I have seen is a last resort and services are failing many of us who have 'walked' in. long wait and lack of attention to you. just ask yourself why is this drug needed? is he really biologically sick - or this a a behavioral adjustment some bureaucratic case worker is following orders to MAKE you comply? these are deep questions of a sound mind you need to ask yourself- if you can find a quiet place to ponder. I have wondered why i have lived and not dead yet, and maybe my anger at the system and drug companies (and My pets) have kept me thinking and sometimes ranting outloud on web... maybe my thoughts can help you think about situation and seek help from someone that will change the tracks your train is on..... do your research on web and look at side effects and long term damage and the experiences of others on the web. make informed choices with a quiet mind.. don't let a damn social worker push you around (IF possible) they are there to make Billable Hours for the agency and justify their job.. trust me i have seen it and lived through it as well.. often felt OH I was being helped".. and No it was smoke and mirrors. i have been through a few months of absurdities in moving and a fall injuring myself and there is no one to advocate for me,(social workers types became a crutch- "illusion of help" ) its frustrating because there is only You to take some control.... I hope you find you can say No! Zyprexa was fine for one month; BUT NOW its time to get off before permanent damage occurs- you can't depend on ER dr to know you I hope you have a real DR that can Help you.. but as i know,.... they are few and far between. those who care are rare.
